Job Description
FirstPrinciples is seeking a driven Development Manager to secure resources for scientific discovery. The role involves prospecting, building relationships, closing deals with philanthropists and institutional funders, and managing a full sales/fundraising cycle. This is a hands-on position for someone who thrives in an account executive-style environment and has a proven track record of closing significant funding commitments.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or fundraising
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding revenue/fundraising targets
- Experience managing a full sales/fundraising cycle
- Track record of closing large, complex deals (multi-million, multi-year commitments)
- Strong existing network of funders and philanthropists
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter mentality with strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with research institutions and the AI funding landscape
