Responsible for the care and safety of patients, organization and preparation of instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures, and infection control and safety.

Requirements

• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures
• Provides nursing care based on individual patient needs
• Maintains aseptic techniques
• Assists circulator in preparation of room for operative procedure
• Performs proficiently in specialty areas
• Assumes responsibility for proper care of instruments and equipment
• Cooperates and supports team effort during procedures
• Prepares room with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested
