Girl Scouts Nation's Capital is seeking a Membership Retention Specialist to strengthen and support the vibrant network of volunteers and members who make Girl Scouting possible. The role involves building relationships, solving problems, and helping others succeed in a dynamic and mission-driven work environment.
Requirements
- Develop and implement annual retention strategies to meet membership goals for youth and adults in the assigned area.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with volunteers through regular communication, coaching, and encouragement.
- Assist new troops with onboarding and provide ongoing guidance throughout their first year to ensure a positive volunteer experience.
- Partner with community leaders and volunteers to maintain a strong service unit structure—helping fill key roles and supporting volunteer-led operations.
- Represent the council at local volunteer meetings, sharing important updates, initiatives, and seasonal reminders.
- Collaborate with colleagues, including Membership Recruitment Specialists, to ensure new members are successfully placed and retained in troops.
- Address and mediate minor conflicts or challenges with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring alignment with the council’s values and policies.
- Use Salesforce to manage communications, track outreach efforts, and monitor progress toward key performance indicators.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all members and volunteers, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
