The Nurse Practitioner position is a permanent full-time role that requires a graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program with a minimum of three years of experience in an addictions service role. The role involves providing comprehensive health assessments, treating clients with addictions and/or concurrent disorders, and leading the development and implementation of addictions care strategy across the addictions service programs.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing or related field is preferred
- Current Certificate of Registration as RN (Extended Class) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and Non-violent crisis intervention is required
- Current specialty certificate in Adult is required
- Completed the approved controlled substances education for Nurse Practitioner
- Training or experience in culturally safe care provision is preferred
- Minumum of three years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an addictions service role
