The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to children and adolescents in an outpatient setting. Key responsibilities include performing health assessments, communicating with patients and families, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in nursing and current certification as a Registered Nurse (Extended Class) with the College of Nurses of Ontario. A minimum of three years' experience as a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner is required, as well as certification as a Primary Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC) and experience in assessing pediatric patients with complex medical needs.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Current Certificate of Registration as RN (Extended Class) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate
- Current certification in Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Ministry of Labour âWorker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Stepsâ training certificate
- Minimum of three (3) years' of experience as a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner
- Certification as a Primary Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC)
- Recent relevant experience in assessing pediatric patients with complex medical needs
- Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of relevant advanced nursing practices
- Experience in the development of strategies to build capacity and improve health outcomes
- Experience in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols
