The Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) (RN(NP)) is responsible for providing primary health care services to individuals and client groups in accordance with evidence-based knowledge and advanced nursing practice.
Requirements
- One (1) year experience with community development/health promotion activities
- 3 years experience as an RN in primary care, public health or acute care
- Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

- Ability to be self motivated
- Demonstrates educational skills & strategies produce positive healthy outcomes
- Knowledge in health determinants and primary care principles
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions

- Knowledge in disease and injury prevention, health protection and harm reduction
- Therapeutic intervention skills working relevant to practice of the RN(NP) role
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge in health status of population and inequities in health
- Ability to provide holistic care to individuals,families & the community
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrates ability in verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
- Ability to take initiative
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
