Job Description
The Surveillance Officer will assist with disease surveillance and related activities of the California Emerging Infections Program (CEIP) under the direction of the CEIP Healthcare Associated Infections Project Coordinator. The position requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and will involve medical chart abstraction, data entry, contacting hospitals and laboratories, and general organizational office work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Microbiology or epidemiology coursework strongly preferred
- 2 years of public health experience
- Experience with infectious diseases in an academic, clinical, public health, or research setting
