Youth Care Professional I - Focus

The Youth Care Professional I offers support to youth and families in achieving their full potential by fostering trust, competence, and trauma-informed solutions. The role involves engaging youth, maintaining safety, providing mentorship, and supporting activities, while adhering to agency and funder requirements. This position focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment and may involve emergency response.

Requirements

• Engage youth and families in trust-based, productive relationships.
• Maintain vigilance and ratio to ensure safety of residents in accordance with agency and funder requirements.
• Provide support services such as mentoring, emotional support, life skills training, and personal care.
• Complete and maintain documentation in medical record system and daily logs.
• Supervise residents through trauma-informed approaches.
• Respond appropriately to resident emergency and safety issues/situations.
• Apply appropriate emergency techniques such as Heart saver as needed.
• Recognize dysregulated youth behavior and effectively apply the continuum of crisis prevention and intervention.
• Build professional relationships that support the individual development and success of residents.
• Must be able to work a variable scheduling including evenings and weekends
