Job Description
As the Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for performing tasks to the highest standards, including preparing ingredients, baking cakes, pies, and pastries, and ensuring proper handling of equipment and maintenance of a clean work environment. You will also assist the Pastry Chef in the performance of their duties and participate in the preparation of baked goods, pastries, and desserts. You will be responsible for regulating thermostat controls, maintaining sanitation and hygiene standards, and assisting in the on-the-job training of pastry staff.
Requirements
- High School degree or trade school certificate and or apprenticeship program
- At least 8 years of experience inclusive of training period, with 2-3 years as a commis and 2-3 years as Demi Chef
- Prior experience working in a pastry department which produces European cakes, pastries etc.
- Prior employment in a 5-star multinational hotel or qualified
- Responsible, interested, motivated, ambitious
- Strong organizational and communication skills
