Nuclear Medicine Technologist

This is a full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist position located at Bloomington Hospital. The position will operate on a 3 week rotating schedule: Week 1: Monday-Thursday 7:30a-2:30p and Friday 7:30a-4:30p, Week 2: Monday – Thursday 7:30a-4:30p, Week 3: Tuesday-Friday 7a-4p. The job requires a strong understanding of the handling of radiopharmaceuticals, proper laboratory procedures, and hospital, state and federal policies and regulations regarding the handling of radioactive materials, hazardous chemicals, and body fluids.

Requirements

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involving the use of radiopharmaceuticals
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric
• Follow physician's instructions, prepare and operate equipment, and position patients correctly
• Require a strong understanding of the handling of radiopharmaceuticals during receipt, storage, administration, and disposal process
• Require knowledge of proper laboratory procedures
• Require a strong understanding of all hospital, state and federal policies and regulations regarding the handling of radioactive materials, hazardous chemicals, and body fluids
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required
• Active status through one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB): Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Nuclear Medicine (board eligible)
• Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• If required to perform SPECT/CT or PET/CT, obtain Computed Tomography (CT) certification within 18 months of hire through ARRT or NMTCB
