This is a senior leadership role responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all people operations, including employee relations, compliance, benefits, leaves, and performance management.
Requirements
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s HR compliance and strategy needs.
- Administers or oversees the administration of HR programs, including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Establishes and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) such as employee net promoter score (eNPS) and missed meal and rest periods to make data-driven decisions and process improvements.
- Maintains a strong employer brand to attract top talent and promote company culture through various channels.
- Develops and implements departmental budgets.
- Works closely with the Director of Talent Acquisition and Onboarding to identify staffing and recruiting needs, develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Leads and fosters positive workplace culture initiatives, resolves disputes, manages performance, and acts as a liaison between staff and management.
- Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
- Develops and implements HR strategies aligned with company goals.
- 8+ years of hands-on and progressive human resource management experience.
- 3–5 years of strong leadership experience with an HR team.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and guidelines, including ADA, ADEA, Civil Rights Act, FLSA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and others
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the HRIS (UKG) and talent management systems.
- Familiarity with a non-profit workforce.
- Experience handling legal personnel cases and working close with employment attorney
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across teams.
- Comfortable juggling multiple priorities with urgency.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR highly preferred.
- 10+ years of hands-on and progressive human resource management experience.
