Job Description
We are redefining the traditional DBA role into a modern Data Platform Engineering function, focused on automation, reliability, cloud-native operations, and scalable patterns for database infrastructure across the company. Our team partners with multiple product and platform squads to provide a robust database platform on AWS, primarily using RDS with PostgreSQL, while also supporting Oracle and SQL Server workloads.
Requirements
- Design and deliver highly reliable, secure, and automated database environments on AWS;
- Provision and operate AWS RDS instances (PostgreSQL primary; Oracle/SQL Server secondary);
- Maintain reusable cloud/database patterns, Terraform modules, and Flyway pipelines;
- Plan and execute migrations from Mainframe DB2 (z/OS) to AWS using DMS;
- Ensure security, governance, and compliance across database environments;
- Collaborate with development teams on SQL tuning, schema design, and troubleshooting;
- Build and maintain automations (Terraform pipelines, workflows);
- Produce documentation, architecture patterns, runbooks, and mentor engineers;
- Evaluate tools and technologies to maintain platform modernization;
