Job Description
A Spoken Language Interpreter facilitates communication between LEP patients and staff at Lexington Medical Center. They provide sight-translation, cultural mediation, and interpretation services to enhance patients' and families' comprehension of medical procedures and treatment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 Year of experience as a medical interpreter
- Nationally certified at the time of hire or must obtain certification within the first year of employment (Spoken Language Interpreters must be nationally certified through the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI))
- Must complete or have completed Bridging the Gap Medical Interpreter specific proficiency testing and training upon hire
