The Server is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service to guests in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner. This role involves taking orders, serving food and drinks, maintaining a clean dining area, handling cash transactions, ensuring customer satisfaction, and collaborating with the kitchen and bar teams to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Requirements
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Present menus and answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, or specials.
- Take customer orders accurately and ensure special requests are communicated to the kitchen and bar.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently and in accordance with restaurant standards.
- Ensure all food and drink orders are presented neatly and with the correct garnishes.
- Offer recommendations and upsell menu items to enhance the guest experience.
- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ensure guests’ needs are met, including refills, condiments, and other requests.
- Address any customer complaints or concerns promptly, maintaining a calm and positive demeanor.
- Create a positive atmosphere by engaging with guests and ensuring a comfortable dining experience.
- Accurately process guest transactions through the point-of-sale (POS) system, including cash, credit card, and other forms of payment.
- Ensure all charges are correct, provide receipts, and maintain accurate records of tips according to company policies.
- Handle cash transactions and tips efficiently and securely, following all company guidelines.
- Ensure dining areas are clean, organized, and ready for guests, including setting tables, stocking utensils, and replenishing supplies.
- Clean and reset tables promptly after guests leave, ensuring the area is ready for the next party.
- Ensure restrooms and common areas are tidy and well-stocked.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure food is handled, stored, and served correctly.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of waste.
- Ensure alcohol service is compliant with legal drinking age laws and company policies.
- Monitor and assist in managing inventory levels for dining and beverage supplies, including condiments, utensils, napkins, and other essential items.
- Report any shortages or inventory issues to management for timely restocking.
- Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure that orders are correctly fulfilled and guests are satisfied.
- Assist in training new servers or other staff as needed.
- Collaborate with team members during busy periods to ensure an efficient flow of service.
- Assist with setting up and preparing for private events, banquets, or special functions.
- Provide support during high-volume events, ensuring a smooth dining experience for large groups.
- Help with tear down and cleaning up after events, ensuring that all areas are returned to a ready state for regular service.
