Job Description
The Clinical Lab Scientist-Transfusion performs and interprets moderate and high complexity tests, reports results and prepares blood products following standard operating procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices. Monitors pending lists and performs instrument and equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Serves as a technical resource and preceptor/mentor to students, residents, and staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field
- Minimum three years of experience in high complexity, computerized clinical laboratory as licensed CLS
- Experience with automated Blood Bank testing instruments
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Generalist MTA required
- Specialist in Blood Banking SBB (ASCP) preferred
