McElhanney is seeking a Junior Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Technologist to join their Calgary team and support transportation infrastructure projects across Western Canada. The role involves working alongside experienced engineers and designers on a mix of urban and rural projects, including road improvements, bridges, and culvert replacements.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Project Management Technology, or similar programs from an accredited institution
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D; exposure to InfraWorks, GIS, or other CAD/mapping tools is an asset
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Project or similar scheduling tools is a bonus
- Familiarity with Alberta Transportation, City of Calgary, or other municipal standards is an asset
- Registered or eligible to register as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with APEGA, or a Technician or Technologist with ASET
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and interact professionally with contractors and clients
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments, including construction sites and outdoor settings
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills
- A positive, team-oriented mindset with a genuine willingness to learn and grow under the mentorship of senior engineers and technologists
