The Academics Instructor provides academic instruction to inmates in accordance with approved curricula, in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) directives. The instructor plans and conducts classes, prepares teaching plans, and administers individual educational tests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Teacher Education from a state approved or NCATE approved program from a regionally/nationally accredited institution of higher learning issued by the Mississippi Department of Education in elementary or secondary education required.
- One year related experience preferred.
- ESL and special education certifications required if instructing in these areas.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
