Job Description
Substance Abuse Counselor I provides substance abuse counseling and recovery skills training to offenders at the Walker-Sayle Unit in Breckenridge, Texas. They participate in offender orientation, educational and individual and process counseling groups, and maintain offender records.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent
- Current letter of registration as a Counselor Intern (LCDC-I) from the Texas Department of State Health Services or current valid certification as a Certified Criminal Justice Professional Applicant Status (CCJP-A)
- Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas
- Ability to pass background checks and maintain Counselor Intern status or CCJP-A certification
