Substance Abuse Counselor I providing counseling and recovery skills training, participating in offender orientation and educational groups, and maintaining offender records. Work with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) at the Ellen Halbert Unit in Burnet, Texas.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent
- Current letter of registration as a Counselor Intern (LCDC-I) or current valid certification as a Certified Criminal Justice Professional Applicant Status (CCJP-A)
- Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record
- Successful completion of Correctional Awareness Training (CAT) and TDCJ approved annual in-service training requirements
- Maintaining Counselor Intern status or CCJP-A certification
