Support Professional

Genesee Lake School, a MyPath Company, is seeking a Support Professional to provide direct care, academic support, and positive engagement for students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and a minimum of 1 year of experience working in an educational setting serving students with disabilities.

Requirements

• Supervise and engage students in living, activity, and community settings
• Support daily living skills including hygiene, recreation, budgeting, and social skills
• Model and reinforce positive behavior in accordance with each student’s ITP and IEP
• Complete required documentation (incident reports, data sheets, shift summaries, etc.)
• Promote health and safety by enforcing site procedures and maintaining a clean environment.
• Assist classroom teachers with instructional and behavioral support
• Follow lesson plans and IEP accommodations/modifications as directed
• Use assistive and adaptive devices to enhance student learning
• Collect and document academic and behavioral data
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to foster academic and social development
• Help implement virtual learning when applicable
• Communicate effectively with education, clinical, and program staff
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development
• Use safe and approved de-escalation techniques when necessary
• Uphold MyPath's values through respectful, proactive, and collaborative conduct
