DouroAzul is seeking a Head Chef to lead their kitchen team on board their luxury ships. The ideal candidate will have experience in 5-star hotel management, with a focus on cost control and teamwork.
Requirements
- Appropriate education for the function (preferably in a Hotel School)
- Proven experience in 5-star hotel management, with at least 2 years of experience
- Broad knowledge of national and international cuisine, with emphasis on Portuguese and International Cuisine
- Proven experience in cost control, with targets for cost reduction, waste reduction, and efficiency in human resource management
- HACCP certification
- Fluency in English (eliminatory), with knowledge of German and French being valued
- Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead multicultural teams
- Ability to work under pressure
- Availability to embark on the Douro River during the cruise season
- Being part of the management team and cooperating in mutual help and task division on the hotel ship
- Coordination and management of schedules, breaks, and holidays of the kitchen brigade
