The university seeks an Assistant Director, Academic Affairs to support the administration and coordination of academic programs for years 1 and 2 at the Jonesboro, Arkansas campus.
Requirements
- Monitor and manage student attendance for OMS1 and OMS2 cohorts using a tracking platform.
- Review and approve/deny exam excuse requests in consultation with the Director of Academic Affairs.
- Build and manage Arkansas-specific academic logistics including CANVAS updates (labs, assessments, events), TeamUP calendar entries (mandatory events), Room scheduling for labs and exams, Coordination with Long Island campus.
- Compile lab assignments and work with the Office of Student Administration on mentor/mentee lists.
- Maintain shared drive folders for each student cohort. Store attendance records, meeting notes, and academic status documents. Use an academic database for student performance tracking.
- Serve as a liaison to the Director of Academic Affairs. Communicate student concerns, attend meetings, assist in decision-making, and triage student inquiries.
- Collaborate with Exam Coordinator and Curriculum Specialist. Understand exam building and scheduling processes.
- Work with Administrative Assistants on departmental budget and purchases.
- Manage educational committee submissions and follow-ups. Communicate with committee and IRB. Report to the Director of Academic Affairs.
- All other duties as assigned.
