The Patient Care Technician-Unit Secretary provides clinical and secretarial support for the Nursing Unit, assisting the Nurse Manager and Unit Charge Nurse in maintaining efficient function of the unit. This role promotes positive public relations through courteous interactions with patients, families, staff and physicians.
Requirements
- CNA certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience
- American Heart Association CPR Certification
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to interact effectively with others
- Ability to uphold confidentiality standards appropriately
- Must communicate effectively (both written and verbally), be organized and self directed
- One year Nursing Assistant experience or comparable experience preferred
- Secretarial and computer knowledge is desirable; computer entry, and simple math
- Ability to effectively handle stress
- Ability to handle confidentiality appropriately
