Dean of Nursing & Allied Health

The Dean of Nursing & Allied Health is responsible for managing operations, including personnel, budgetary, and curriculum review, to ensure compliance with accreditation and OSBN requirements. The Dean sets goals, direction, and vision for the Nursing & Allied Health programs, providing leadership and collaborating with other Deans at the College.

Requirements

• Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution
• Five (5) years of nursing experience, with three years in a nurse educator or administrative position
• Current unencumbered Oregon R.N. License
• Post-master's degree in education or Doctoral degree in Nursing or in Education (optional)
• Recent clinical experience (optional)
• Experience in Associate Degree Nursing Program (optional)
• Bilingual – Spanish (optional)

• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work cooperatively with staff, faculty, and students
• Ability to work independently and supervise others
• Excellent interpersonal skills in the areas of creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, group planning, and decision-making processes
• Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups representing the Health Services industry, community partners, and other educational agencies
• A spirit of enthusiasm, energy and multi-cultural awareness

• Ability to plan, implement, and manage an instructional program
• Knowledge of the accreditation requirements of the Oregon State Board of Nursing; the National League for Nursing; and the Northwest Commission on Colleges & Universities
