Program Assistant

Program Assistants in the Pathways to Education program support the delivery of tutoring and mentoring sessions, and special events at Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre (PQCHC). They work closely with staff, volunteers, and students to help create a welcoming and supportive environment where youth can focus on their academic goals while also building confidence, connection, and belonging.

Requirements

• High school diploma or currently enrolled in post-secondary education; or equivalent experience
• Experience working with youth (ages 13-18) in a community, school, or recreational setting (e.g., tutoring, camp, coaching, youth programs)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a dynamic environment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to take initiative
• Ability to work in-person afternoon/evening shifts on an on-call basis
• Fluency in French and/or other languages
• First Aid & CPR (Level C) certification
• Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check (required)
