The CNC Machinist 2 operates under minimal supervision, operating CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts. Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
Requirements
- Reads and interprets blueprints
- Loads and unloads raw materials
- Uses measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
- Operates CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance
- Understands and can function using M and G codes
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of cutting tools
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery
- Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment
- Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department
