The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations while leading continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Requirements
- Support the plant manager in overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with production teams to meet quality, safety and quantity targets.
- Supervise and support production staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Identify operational inefficiencies, bottlenecks and areas for improvement by gathering data and analyzing it to implement process improvements.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of improvement initiatives and promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
- Create and update documentation process in support of best practices.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations within the plant.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes.
- Address and resolve quality issues as they arise.
- Assist in managing inventory levels to meet production demands.
- Assist in monitoring and controlling production costs within budgetary constraints.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
- Facilitate communication between different departments within the plant and relay information to upper management and plant staff.
- Prepare regular reports on production metrics, safety incidents, and other relevant key performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to manufacturing operations.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations that may impact plant operations.
