Road Scholar is seeking a Sr. Director, Compensation and Benefits to lead and manage all staff involved with benefits and compensation, including HRIS system, fostering a high-performing team culture. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field, and 10+ years of Human Resources management experience, specifically overseeing compensation and/or benefit plan design and administration.
Requirements
- Lead, manage, and develop all staff involved with benefits and compensation, including HRIS system, fostering a high-performing, accountable and collaborative team culture.
- Continually evaluates the competitiveness and effectiveness of Road Scholar's benefit programs, practices and procedures, including but not limited to health & welfare programs, retirement plans, time off programs, and other perquisites, in relation to Road Scholar's strategic objectives;
- Responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to Road Scholar employees by providing responsive service, escalated problem solving, and ensuring follow-through on benefits issues;
- Executive sponsor for major initiatives related to benefits programs;
- Regularly assesses effectiveness and utilization of existing programs;
- Develops annual benefits budget based on plan design changes and pricing/claims projections;
- Oversees and assesses services of benefits consultants, brokers, and other providers;
- Ensures benefit plan compliance with federal and state regulations and tax codes;
- Accountable for branding of Road Scholar benefits and communication program to employees;
- Manages all renewals and annual open enrollment;
- Conducts/Facilitates employee satisfaction surveys, workshops and trainings;
- Works with Senior Leadership to ensure they understand the executive benefits programs are understood and utilized;
- Continually evaluate, leads and directs the effectiveness of Road Scholar’s compensation programs;
- Develops, proposes, and implements variable pay programs designed to place greater emphasis on the link between performance and pay;
- Designs, proposes, and implements effective communication and education strategies for management and employees regarding total compensation and benefits;
- Conducts annual market pay analysis, develops market ranges, and present findings, observations, and conclusions to Senior management as required;
- Plans, develops, executes the administration of a wide variety of employee compensation programs including base pay, merit, incentive, and equity in an assigned geography or functional unit;
- Participate in project assignments which may include analysis of competitive pay practices, economic trends, current market position, cost impact analysis, system enhancements;
- Ensure that Road Scholar maintains equity internally, and is externally competitive with wages and salaries;
- Advises senior management regarding the development of compensation budgets, strategic plans and annual merit matrices;
- Prepares Board Committee materials and participates in Board meetings in support of Executive compensation programs as required;
- Collaborates with the senior managers in stewarding the annual merit process in alignment with the annual performance management cycle;
- Ensures accurate, current job descriptions exist to support the organization's compensation structure and talent acquisition activities while assessing the roles fit within the organizational structure;
- Develops and delivers employee communications and training related to compensation programs, policies, and processes;
- Ensures compliance with all governmental record-keeping and reporting requirements for compensation programs;
