Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking a Team Lead for their Electron GNC team, responsible for building, testing, and launching Electron rockets across launch sites and test facilities in the United States and New Zealand. This role involves mission design, launch vehicle performance optimization, software verification, and HLT testing. It's a critical position within a fast-paced, high-impact team focused on delivering reliable rocket launches and supporting scientific and technological missions.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, or Software Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in aerospace/space systems and developing GNC algorithms for launch vehicles
- Deep knowledge of orbital mechanics, rigid body dynamics, and control systems
- Strong skills in Python, MATLAB/SciPy, and experience with simulation and flight software
- Excellent communicator with a passion for mentoring and solving hard problems
