Plating Process Development Engineer

Samtec, Inc. is seeking a Plating Process Development Engineer to research, develop, and integrate new plating/coating technologies into their electrochemistry, plating, and advanced materials production processes. The role involves collaboration with various engineering groups and involves the introduction of new plating technologies, troubleshooting issues, and supporting research and development efforts. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong teamwork skills and a willingness to work in a chemical environment.

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in electro-plating, electrolytic plating, or similar processes.
• Scanning electron microscope, x-ray diffraction, elemental and chemical spectroscopic experience.
• Experience in Reel-to-Reel plating / Strip Line plating.
• Ability to work in a chemical environment.
• Ability to lift, stand, and walk on a continuous basis.
• Experience in Lean manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Statistical Process Control, and Six Sigma is a plus.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
