Information and Assistance Specialist

We are hiring a bilingual (English and Tagalog) Information and Assistance Specialist who provides assessment, information, referral and assistance to older adults and adults with disabilities. The role is 30 hours a week and involves working with other agencies and the Institute on Aging (IOA) Information and Assistance Supervisor to integrate seniors and adults with disabilities into the services and programs of the San Francisco Senior Center.

Requirements

• Collaborates with other agencies doing similar work and with the IOA Information and Assistance Supervisor following Aging and Disability Resource Center grant guidelines.
• Utilizes quality customer service skills, conducts intake and needs assessments of all clients in order to provide them with information and/or referrals to agencies, resources, or services that match their needs.
• Provides clients with information and/or translation services, assists clients in accessing needed services and advocates on their behalf.
• Establishes contacts and maintains good working relationships with key personnel in other agencies, including community-based service providers and citywide providers.
• Promotes utilization of services by conducting outreach to businesses, groups and individuals, and schedules and makes presentations to various agencies as needed.
• Completes proper documentation, data entry of reports, and submits monthly service logs and reports as needed.
• Assists in SFSC business needs such as opening and closing of the facility, supporting center staff team as necessary.
