Job Description
AtkinsRĂ©alis is recruiting a Senior Power System Studies Engineer to join their Electrical Engineering team in Birmingham, Glasgow, or Epsom. The role involves leading and delivering complex power system studies, liaising with clients, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering, Chartered Engineer status, and extensive experience in power system studies across transmission, distribution, and industrial networks.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer status desirable
- Extensive experience in power system studies across transmission, distribution, and industrial networks
- Experience with one of the transmission owners (National Grid, Scottish and Southern Energy Networks, Scottish Power) is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of industry standards (e.g., BS, IEC, IEEE) and transmission owner requirements
- Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD, or similar
- Proven track record of client engagement and successful proposal development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead discussions and influence stakeholders
- Experience working with or managing offshore teams is a plus
