Intern, Security Architecture

Role Overview

Join the Corporate Information Security Division (CISD) organization in Reston, VA for the 2026 summer internship program. Assist with implementing Security Architecture methodologies in areas of network, cloud, endpoint and email. Assist in the development and design of security best practices.

What You Will Do

Assist with implementing security principles across the organization, meet business goals, and customer and regulatory requirements. Assist with documenting the current state and ideal state of Security Reference Architecture. Support development and refinement of global information security technical standards, guidelines, and training.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Knowledge of security protocols and frameworks including PKI, SAML, OAuth, TLS, IPSec, VPN
• Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure and platforms including but not limited to: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and/or Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of security toolsets including key management systems, firewalls, multi-factor authentication, intrusion detection systems
• Broad knowledge across multiple domains including web applications, database technologies, server applications, storage applications, and/or hardware engineering
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and quickly apply new concepts to accomplish assignments
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PPT
• Previous experience through work or internship preferred
