Intern, State Community Organizer, Alabama State Office (Fall 2026)

The Southern Poverty Law Center is seeking a Community Organizer intern to work on state campaign projects and efforts in Alabama. The intern will assist the State Director and team in developing outreach materials and will uphold the organization's JEDI principles.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program
• Strong academic background
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Passionate about civil rights and social justice issues
• Ability to work effectively with others and independently
• Self-starter with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Flexibility to participate in work events on weekends and evenings

Benefits

• Compensation: $17.95 per hour for a minimum of 15 hours per week
• Flexible work arrangement: Local Remote (Montgomery Office)
