Job Description
The Health and Disabilities Coordinator promotes compliance with regulations, ensures monitoring and tracking of health and disability services, identifies children with disabilities, and manages programs for children with disabilities and their families.
Requirements
- Ensure operations comply with Tribal Plans of Operations, Head Start Performance Standards, USDA, Washington Administrative code (WAC) disability laws/mandates, and related Tribal, State & Federal regulations.
- Verify and coordinate care for Head Start Children's health examinations within 90 days of enrollment.
- Organize a health advisory committee, develop and implement a health education curriculum, and conduct daily health checks.
- Conduct immunization reviews, vision and hearing screenings, and provide referrals as necessary.
- Facilitate health-related home visits, promote parental involvement, and respond to crisis or emergency situations.
- Monitor classroom environments, disabilities services, screening and assessment tools, and methods.
- Ensure accurate reports, documentation, and compliance with applicable State, Federal, and Tribal laws, policies, and procedures.
- Act as an advocate for parents and children with special needs, provide referrals to appropriate resources, and assist in providing disabilities information and referrals for staff, parents, and collaborating agencies.
