Join a team of Cancer Social Workers delivering individual, family, and group interventions to inpatients and outpatients within a multidisciplinary setting. Provide comprehensive social work support to patients, families, and carers affected by a cancer diagnosis. Apply advanced clinical knowledge and skills within the relevant area of practice and contribute to research, quality improvement, and departmental initiatives.
Requirements
- Hold a degree in Social Work and be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Demonstrated advanced clinical experience in a tertiary hospital or health-related setting with inpatients and outpatients with a cancer diagnosis or terminal illness.
- Highly skilled in psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, counselling, adjustment to illness, case management, short-term solution-focused interventions, group work, grief and loss, and discharge planning (including NDIS, ACAT & NCAT).
- Committed to multidisciplinary teamwork in complex environments, with experience providing clinical supervision to staff and students.
- Ability to lead or contribute to research, quality, and education initiatives, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
