We are seeking a part-time Library and Information Advisor to work in a library in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The role involves delivering excellent customer service, supporting customers with using library services, and running activities for children and adults. The ideal candidate will be IT literate, enthusiastic about working with children, and able to work independently. The role is permanent, with 7.5 hours per week worked on Thursdays and Saturdays. The salary is £25,185 per annum (pro rata).
Requirements
- Deliver great customer service to people of all ages
- Communicate effectively and build positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and the wider community
- Be confident engaging with young people and enthusiastic about delivering activities like children’s crafts and story sessions
- Be IT literate and comfortable using the internet, Microsoft Teams, social media, email, mobile devices, and apps
- Work well as part of a team and be happy to support colleagues
- Be willing to learn and carry out the full range of library procedures
