Library and Information Advisor

We are seeking a Library and Information Advisor to join our team at Suffolk County Council. As a Library and Information Advisor, you will be at the heart of your local community, helping people of all ages access the services, support, and inspiration that libraries offer. The role involves delivering excellent customer service, planning and running activities for children, and facilitating groups for older people. You will need to be confident engaging with young people, enthusiastic about delivering activities, and IT literate. If you enjoy helping people and have experience working with children, we would love to hear from you.

Requirements

• Deliver excellent customer service to a wide range of visitors
• Support customers with using library services
• Plan, run and deliver Wordplay, singing, story time and craft sessions for babies, toddlers and their families
• Facilitate school visits
• Facilitate groups for older people
• Help customers with IT queries
• Work closely with volunteers and community groups to raise the library's profile and deliver outreach services
• Carry out core library tasks such as shelving, stock management, taking payments, and creating displays
