Responsible for the manufacturing process over its lifecycle from design to the mass production stage. Participate in the conceptual design of processes to make a product to achieve timely delivery, quality, and cost objectives. Continually improving the process towards its entitlement by eliminating waste, making it safer for production team members.
Requirements
- Define, review, and confirm the entire manufacturing process from start to finish.
- Coordinate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review, and initiate Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) with core team members.
- Prepare documentation and process specifications for production.
- Lead team in identification, tracking, and resolution of engineering issues using the Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (FACA) form.
- Continuous manufacturing process improvement with TEOA tools for cost reduction.
- Evaluate new tools, fixture and equipment demand/cost for new projects.
- Design and review the tool, fixture, and equipment with core team members, meeting TE engineering and EHS requirements.
- Upload all tooling prints to TE data management system (DM.TEC, PDMLink, etc.).
- Discuss and review details of tool/fixture/equipment with outside supplier.
- Follow up on the purchasing process to fabricate new tool/fixture/equipment.
- Condition all tools, fixture and equipment, lead the tool/fixture/equipment qualification by running samples or LVM,
- Follow up on the qualification documentation using the TE standard format, and follow up on the approval.
- Coordinate pilot run for new products and solve engineering issues, make sure the manufacturing process capability meets engineering, quality and customer requirement.
- Coach, train, and develop operators and technicians to ensure they can master their techniques and continuously improve them.
- Run Kaizen events to eliminate waste from the process and improve cycle time, changeover times, quality yield, and cost
- Optimize spare parts consumption and improve the durability of the process
- Make processes safer by implementing machine guarding and control reliability principles
- Update routing and cycle times in the system as soon as improvement actions are done
- Improve and automate the flow of material and movement of people to optimize cash and efficiency
- Optimize Capex and Opex related to operations by understanding changes in technology, vendor landscape, and make vs buy to improve margin and cash
- Future technology
- Build a technology roadmap to differentiate processes that do not exist today to create a competitive advantage
