The Certified Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. Provides quality patient care under the direct supervision of the Providers while directly reporting to the Regional Office Supervisor.
Requirements
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
- Greet patients and visitors in a timely, friendly and professional manner; provide exceptional customer service
- Verify patient demographics and applicable insurance benefits; maintain accurate electronic patient records
- Assist patients with check-in process
- Coordinate with clinical team to ensure efficient patient flow within the clinic
- Communicate updates to patients timely
- Prepare, restock and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures
- Accompany patients to examination or treatment room, measure and record vital signs, review patient’s medical history, update information and changes in medical history as needed, and prepare them for examination or treatment
- Assist Providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients
- Where applicable, clean wounds, draw labs, complete electrocardiograms, and apply dressings and splints perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the Provider
- Administer vaccines, immunizations and medications prescribed by the Provider; lab work may consist of throat cultures, hematocrits, and urinalysis, among others
- Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider; ensure patient’s understanding of care instructions and wellness plan
- Represent the clinic in a friendly, professional manner; treat all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner
- Participate in team activities, team meetings and professional development activities

- Comply with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines regarding patient confidentiality as well as follow all principles of medical ethics
- Complete required training as assigned by the organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
