Senior Android Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Android Systems Engineer to help design, build, and evolve the Android platform underpinning our secure cloud-hosted Android application delivery environment. The role will involve working closely with cloud, networking, platform, security, and streaming engineering teams across the wider organisation.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience working with AOSP and Android platform internals
• Experience building and maintaining custom Android platform images
• Strong Linux systems engineering experience
• Experience with Android internals including framework services, HAL, binder, init, package management, and SELinux
• Experience with containerised Android environments such as Anbox, Anbox Cloud, Cuttlefish, or Waydroid
• Experience with LXC / LXD or comparable container runtime technologies
• Strong understanding of Android build systems including repo, Soong, and Make
• Experience with ARM64 architecture and cross-compilation environments
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and large-scale build environments
• Strong debugging and problem-solving capability across systems boundaries
• Programming experience across C, C++, Java, or Kotlin
• Experience working within secure, regulated, or high-assurance environments
