Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join The Part-Time Finance People and support a portfolio of ambitious SME clients across St Albans and the surrounding areas. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll take ownership of the finance function, provide meaningful commercial insight, and help business owners make informed, confident decisions.
Requirements
- Strong experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting
- Expertise in balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes
- Proven experience in cashflow forecasting and profitability analysis
- Strong systems knowledge, particularly Xero (experience with Sage50 and/or QuickBooks beneficial)
- A track record of implementing and improving financial controls and processes
- Commercial awareness with a proactive, business-focused mindset
- Experience supporting year-end processes and external accountants
- Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, SUMIFs, and financial analysis
- Confidence presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and business owners
- Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/ICAEW) or QBE with significant relevant experience
