Award-winning children's mental health organization seeking a Registered Social Worker (Mental Health) to engage pregnant and parenting young mothers in psychotherapeutic interventions. The role is part of the MIMH team providing parenting and early childhood interventions for families with children 0 to 6 years old.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or equivalent
- Eligibility for independent practice of the Control Act of Psychotherapy in Ontario
- Registered in good standing with The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Certificate in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience in infant, child, youth or parenting counselling and psychotherapy
- In-depth knowledge of issues affecting young women and their infants
- Experience performing advocacy work within child welfare, legal system, housing, healthcare, etc.
- Experience working with racialized pregnant and parenting youth
- Knowledge of prenatal, postnatal, and early parenting needs
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in infant and early childhood mental health and development
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft, Outlook, TREAT, or client databases
