Nurse Unit Manager

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking an experienced and values-driven Nurse Unit Manager to lead the John Cade inpatient unit for adult mental health. The successful candidate will provide clinical, operational, and workforce leadership for the unit, driving high-quality, recovery-oriented care while supporting a skilled and multidisciplinary workforce.

Requirements

• Registration as a Registered Nurse (AHPRA)
• Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing (or equivalent)
• Proven leadership experience in an inpatient or acute setting
• Strong understanding of clinical risk, governance, and the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022
• Commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and least restrictive care
• Highly developed communication, coaching, and team-building skills and ability to lead in a complex, fast-paced environment
• A minimum of 4 years working as a Grade 4 Registered Psychiatric Nurse
