Job Description
We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team at The Beacon, providing support and stability to individuals experiencing homelessness. As a Support Worker, you will be the first point of contact for residents, visitors, and callers, and will provide information about accommodation options, manage mail collection, and support the smooth running of after-hours operations.
Requirements
- Certificate IV in Community Services (minimum requirement)
- Experience in homelessness or human services (desirable)
- Understanding of trauma impacts, human development and social disadvantage
- Ability to respond calmly and professionally to challenging behaviours
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse clients
- Initiative, sound judgement and the ability to work both independently and within a team
