The Maintenance Planner supports mining operations by planning and scheduling short- to medium-term maintenance for mobile and/or fixed plant equipment, infrastructure, and facilities. The role focuses on improving equipment availability, reducing unplanned downtime, and ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Requirements
- 3 years' planning experience in fixed or mobile equipment planning, mining maintenance activities, and/or equivalent industrial experience
- Strong knowledge of fixed plant/mobile maintenance processing and associated maintenance processes in a surface mine operation
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within fixed plant or mobile assets
- 5 years' experience in fixed plant equipment maintenance – crushing, material handling, mill/processing – or mobile maintenance equipment (haul trucks, excavators, drillers, support equipment)
- Surface mining experience
- Expertise in predictive and preventative maintenance techniques
- Experience with resource allocation and optimizing maintenance workforce efficiency
- Familiar with Office 365, including strong Excel skills and MS Project skills
- SAP software experience required
- Use of Cat SIS and other OEM parts manuals
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while being self-motivated and proactive
- Ability to analyze equipment and processing performance data to identify trends and improvement areas
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Valid US Driver's License
- Authorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship from Thiess
- Must be fluent in the English language
