The Lead Software Engineer will lead a team of software engineers to build and support business application solutions using mainframe and API-driven web technologies. The role requires expertise in mainframe technologies, database design, and REST/JSON APIs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, math, engineering, or other technical field
- Five years of experience in mainframe technologies - COBOL, JCL, Ezytrieve, Rexx and CICS
- Advanced proficiency and subject-matter expertise in wmA, Vantage-One, and Distribution Support System (DSS) administrative platforms
- Experience with Schedulers/SCM/Debug: Control-M, Endevor/Changeman, Xpeditor, Abend-Aid, File Manager, IDCAMS, ICETOOL/SORT
- Three years of experience and expertise in database design techniques and philosophies in DB2, VSAM and Oracle
- Familiarity with designing, implementing and maintaining REST/JSON APIs that front CICS programs/transactions via z/OS Connect EE
- Hands-on ITIL/ITSM experience (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge)
- Experience in optimizing batch processing cycles to meet or exceed nightly, month-end, and quarter-end SLA commitments
- Advanced understanding of software development and research tools
