Job Description
The Relay Technician 2 role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical relaying and metering systems, including protecting and repairing in-service equipment. This position requires the ability to interpret electrical schematics, understand electrical safety standards, and perform various tests and inspections. Technical proficiency is expected. The position also involves troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance to ensure efficient system operation.
Requirements
- Proficiently uses hand, power tools, meters and other test equipment in energized electrical rooms, vaults, and substations
- Apply, reads, understands, reviews and corrects schematic, wiring diagram blueprints and substation drawings
- Troubleshoots, repairs and replaces components involved in questionable operations and failures
- Coordinates testing, troubleshooting and repairs with other department personnel
- Participates in emergency callouts
- Works under minimal supervision
