6013-11 Direct Support Professional

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) advocates and supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. Responsibilities include household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, and administering medications, among other duties. Paid training and certifications are provided by Venture Community Services.

Requirements

• Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives
• Varied interests and personal connections in the local community
• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team
• Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Fluent English language skills
