VITAS Home Health Aides provide personal care and services to hospice patients, augmenting the care provided by family members or other caregivers. The position involves performing a variety of tasks related to hygiene, meal preparation, ambulation assistance, and patient support, under the guidance of a nurse. Home Health Aides complete 12+ hours of training per year.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- Meet personnel qualifications of a Home Health Aide
- Documented evidence of 75 hours of training as specified in 42 C.F.R. Sections 484.36 and 484.36(a)(1)
- State Allowable Training/Certification
- Ability to travel per job requirements
- Ability to read, write, and carry out directions
- Physical demands representative of those required to perform the job
